Blade servers and high-density computing power requirements continue to increase

within the data center creating heat proliferation and more challenges for managing

the IT environment. To maintain their competitive advantage, data center managers

need solutions such as Sentry Switch POPS (Per Outlet Power Sensing) units that

monitor, track and manage servers and IT equipment and the equipment cabinet

infrastructure that houses them.

Sentry Switched POPS PDUs combine all the features and functions of a switched PDU

with the ability to provide power monitoring per an individual outlet/device.

FEATURES

• The Sentry CDU Family meets the UL 60950-1 requirement for branch

circuit protection

• Exclusive true RMS current monitoring is critical to preventing overloads in

high-density computing environments; LED digital displays on the CDU enclosure

report the input current of each phase or branch circuit for simple

load balancing

• The Switched CDU supports two external 10 ft. (3 m) probes. Each of these

probes measure both temperature and humidity. Receive SNMP-based alerts or

e-mail notifications when conditions exceed defined thresholds

• The Switched CDU family has the capability to daisy chain units together; the

Expansion Module provides the ability to link two power circuits under one

IP address

• Remote configuration and management of outlets. Reboot a single- or

dual-power server with one command. Receive SNMP-based alerts and e-mail

alerts when power or environmental conditions exceed thresholds. Assign users

specific access rights to designated outlets or groups.

• Sentry Switched POPS PDUs combine all the features and functions of a

Switched PDU with the ability to provide power monitoring per an individual

outlet/device. Power information per individual outlet includes: current load (A),

voltage (V), power (kW), apparent power (VA), crest factor, and power factor
